Clean Burning

Many candles are made from paraffin wax and strong synthetic fragrance oils.

Paraffin wax is a petroleum byproduct that is deodorised and bleached before it is made into wax. When burned, it can release benzene and toluene fumes which are both known highly toxic carcinogens and are similar to those found in diesel fumes! This mixed with synthetic fragrance oils can release a toxic cocktail of fumes into our homes and sacred spaces.

No thanks!

We wanted to create safe, clean burning candles that reduce toxic load in our home and improve health and mental clarity.

Essential Oils & Natural Fragrance

We use 100% natural essential oils and natural fragrance in our candles.

There are many questions about what the term 'natural fragrance' means. In our case, it means that fragrance is made from an isolated chemical compound (isolate) derived from a natural source. It might be the more expensive option but it means there is no alcohol, phthalates, dyes and Dipropylene Glycol (DPG.) All those ingredients are usually found in many synthetic fragrance products, but we feel the less chemicals in our candles, the better for you and the environment.

Coconut Wax & Cotton Wicks

After researching all kinds of natural wax, coconut wax was by far was our favourite. It’s beautiful creamy texture and crisp white color is made by cold pressing the coconut meat in the same way that coconut oil is produced. Coconut wax is also more sustainable as it comes from a natural source, eco-friendly to harvest and biodegradable. Blended together with a small amount of soy for hardening purposes, it provides a clean burn and delivers great scent distribution of the essential oils.

We made our candles and it was love at first light!

To reduce toxic load even further we only ever use cotton unbleached wicks coated with vegetable wax, which are free of lead and other heavy metals.

Handmade In Small Batches

Our candles are a labour of love and each candle is created from start to finish by hand. The wicks are placed, the wax hand poured, labels stuck and candles packed. They burn for up to 50 hours and are mindfully made with good vibes, good ingredients and good intentions .

Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle

As a company we have made a conscious effort to ensure our packaging is not damaging to our Earth. Our packaging can be reused, recycled, repurposed and our packaging filling is biodegradable.

When you have 1/2 an inch of wax left, that is a good time to say goodbye to your candle, but not in the traditional sense of throwing it away!

When fully cooled and the wax has hardened, remove the labels and put it in the freezer overnight. The wax will contract and then be easier to crack and remove from the glass. Wash with warm, soapy water and your container is ready to repurpose! Pen pot, change holder, vase, plant pot. The possibilities are endless!
